[Tutorial] Part-1 :: Step by Step :: Setting up your node mcu ESP8266
NodeMCU Amica is an ESP8266 Wifi Module based development board. It has got Micro USB slot, hence it just requires USB cable similiar of your phone charging or phone data-cable. What it means is that, it just requires computer to write a code and burn on the chip, USB data cable and nodemcu to startup with your project on WIFI based nodes or any IOT project.
So happy, internetify. (New word that came to my mind :))
This becomes handy to start up your hands-on the ESP8266 related to IOT projects. It has got CP2102 USB to serial converter which enables to interface ESP8266 directly with your labtop or computer. Further, it is USB powered and hence would not be requiring further power source.
So now listing down complete tool chain, we will go through step by step installation process.
> NODE MCU
> USB Cable (Self powered)
> CP2102 Driver installation on the PC.
> NODEMCU firmware and Nodemcu Flashloader to upload it.
> Arduino (IDE) – configuring for programming the IDE.
Here, I assume that you have Arduino installed at your PC.
Step by Step Tutorial :
We will divide setup process in below steps :
- Step 1 : Setting up USB driver.
- Step 2 : Upload Primary firmware ESP8266 to enable programming with Arudino.
- Step 3 : Configuring Arduino IDE (few imports of libraries required) to enable writing code for ESP8266.
- Step 4 : Write a Hello World and opening on your computer browser.
